Further Preparations

My preparations continue. I’m pretty busy, so I’ll just give you a glimpse of what I’m up to:

Archival Tape at Work 1 Archival Tape at Work 2
Archival Tape at Work 3 Frame Assembly!
Hangers On! Hangers application!

Also, I got some glass at a hardware store, which is awesome, but there is just one problem:
STICKERS. On the glass!

Luckily, my mother taught me an excellent magical method for removing gummy or crusty stuff from the stove, and it works great on glass, too. The Patient People’s Wet Paper Towel Trick to the rescue!

Sticker!

Come see the result of all this getting ready and further preparation at Faces Forward in Lewisburg, WV, this Sunday!

Getting Ready

I’m getting ready for Faces Forward by matting as many paintings as I can. I’ve been making tiny drawings to hang from tacks (and christmas trees) and planning logistics, and now, matting. My livtng room is a jumble of rectangle packaging and parts, and I never thought I’d be so excited about something so repetitive. I think the Cinderella-like transformation of the artwork is what I like so much about it. It goes from a semi-tidy slip of paper with art on it, to professional presentable work of art.

The glass came that way in the mail. There was a 50% glass survival rate. It might be time to find a local source for that stuff.
Anyway, I am super excited to do my first hometown show. I expect to see a lot of people who I have known for many years, and a few who I have never met, and some in between, and show all of them my non-sketchbook artwork for the first time.
