In the Pool of Vanishing Cash

Today, my art-loving friends, I have a sad story to tell. Someone out there was inconsiderate enough to steal $865.00 out of my bank account, just when things were already pretty tight. All I can do now is sit tight, hope my car doesn’t break down a third time, and wait for my new debit card and my affidavits to arrive in the mail. It looks like I’m going to get the money back, but It is pretty overwhelming to see that negative sign on the front of my account balance for so many days in a row.
So here is a little illustration of my life right now:

In the Pool of Vanishing Cash

I do not have the lovely masculine shoulders that this fella does, but I do have a tan vest and I do have the problem of a deep black pit where all my money should be (up to my ribs, of course).

Safeguard your digits, folks, cause this game ain’t no fun.

P.S.

If you feel sorry for me and want to help out, you can check out my Store, which should have a slightly less paltry selection soon, or get in touch with me about a print of some art you saw on my website or about a $10 Sketch.

Photo Friday: A Place to Walk

I found a place to walk near my new home.

A place to walk in a fairly staight line.

Some parts of this trail are paved, but I like this part.

Just a Little Longer

It was recently pointed out to me that I do things that I want to do.This is true.

***
Sono andata in Italia!
I traveled to England and Italy and I learned to speak Italian (A decade ago I spoke middling conversational Italian, but now I am pretty rusty).

***
B.S.
I got a bachelor’s degree.

***
Did Art Show
I pulled together an art show that I could be proud of.

***
Job!
I got a job. (Holy Beluga, I’m a geologist!)

***
However, there is one thing I have wanted to do since I was a kid, but still haven’t done.
There is nothing I have wanted SO much for SO long
and NOT done:
Getting a dog.
Doggieeeeee
I keep choosing not to get a dog because i have the dog’s best interest in mind.

While I was in college, I was often on campus for 12 or 13 hours at a time. I am not away for such long stretches anymore, but it has been many years since I had a yard to call my own. I live by myself in a small apartment. My dog would be a lonely dog, with late-night walks from a tired grumpy person.

That is no way for a dog to live.

So, for now, I visit dogs at other people’s houses,
and look at my old snapshots of my parents’ dogs…

Ruggles in a Chair

Pug on a Porch

… and decide to get a dog

… then decide I’m not ready yet, again.

Whoa Nellie!

I just got a new job (!), left an old job (!), moved 300 miles (!),
and FINALLY got some internet hooked up.
Here are the technicians connecting stuff:
DSL Techs

Notice the socks. It was very considerate of them to leave their muddy boots by the door.
I don’t want their job (I’ve got my own, thanks),
but I am a tiny bit jealous of their awesome tool sack.
